I wonder if the reg plate indicates a lot of turbo lag... W8 PWR = Wait PoWeR....

It's actually not that funny, it's a W8 Passat ie it is a Passat with a 4 litre 8 cylinder engine, the 'W' being because the cylinders are arranged in a W rather than a V configuration and it is from the same family of engines as the W12 in the Bentley Continental.
Power is moderate being 275bhp and 273lb ft but it is still no ordinary Passat and something of a Q car.

Ha ha....tw@t
Didn't think they had a turbo version of the W8 engine....which makes this even worse!
hats of to VW though...it is a very nice engine design, but really could do with more power out of essentially 2x 2l V4's welded together.

I've only seen one W8 before and it was the same blue colour. IIRC, they were very pricey for a VW.

At the time i saw it I thought it was a guy that had stuck a load of badges on the back of the car to tart it up a bit. You couldnt hear the tone as such even though it was a 4L car as robin says. It was a rush hour drive so nothing above 20mph really took place but I thought it was worthy of a pic as you dont see one everyday
