Phoned to cancel the policy because it was going to cost £153.50. I explained it was too expensive and that two of our cars already have a recovery package in place.
RAC response:
"Thanks for being a good customer, we will renew exactly the same policy (Roadside & Recovery & at home for myself and the wife) for £47.02"

just goes to show what they could do...
always threaten to cancel to see the response...nobody likes losing customers so why not use it to our advantage?

I do it every year. Same conversation but with a much better saving this year for some reason. They normally knock off £40-£50

I fould something similar. Said I would be better cancelling totally and later rejoining with all the benefits given to new members.
They renewed me at NEW MEMBER prices !!!!!!

get a RBS black card its all free.... with me and the wife!!! use of all airport lounges in the world and free travel insurance and boiler/electrical/plumbing cover for your house hold! and a bunch of other stuff!!!
250 quid a year though but i use the airport lounges to great effect

They are dicks, i pay them 75quid a month, have done for a full year now and been a customer for 3 years and they wont upgrade me from Sky+ to HD+ for free. I know its only 50quid but its the pricipal. although i am the only looser.

HSBC do a plus account too, which I think is £10 or £11 a month which includes breakdown cover and family holiday insurance. I'm going to look into that a bit further I think

unfortunatly i work in the north sea now so the tax man kicks me in the nuts constantly.
i used to work abroad and put to them.
the airport lounges are great! me and the wife nip across to places for a couple of days. with 3 hours of a free bar each way!! as the misses dosent drink i feel its my duty to get mine and hers moneys worth!!

I've got the HSBC Premier service which is 'free' (certain criteria apply) includes a shed load of insurances for goods, holidays etc etc
