Are WR1's changing hand more frequently?

Postby John Mc » Thu Jul 16, 2009 10:45 am

...or are the same number changing hands and it's just that more people are registering here then before?

Seem to have been an increasing number of new owners on here in the past few months which is great...

I think we have more new guys now as WR1s are lower in price now so more folks can afford them and are finding membership is a good thing.
Heaven can wait....I'm playing with my scooby.

If you want my thoughts....

The proportion of true "enthusiasts" often increases with the age of the car. The proportion of new cars purchased by enthusiasts would be less than the proportion of enthusiasts owning used cars as of today.

well i was a guest for a long time before I joined up, trying to spot a bargin....then I had a choice of 3

now there is loads on offer, and some at lower price than I payed with lower mileage too. Any regrets? Not a single one...loving scooby ownership again.

but to be honest who cares! sorry Mc johnnyboy, as long as the cars and new owners are on here then we all gain from it. We can trace the car, and also get feedback on issues as our cars wear out and gradually need fixing bit by bit.

All a good thing I reckon, more the merrier (and John that's not an invite!! )

John its probably all the redline racing ones that are changing hands frequently as the new owners realise what they have bought has been hammered

Apart from a few on here, most people who brought new are not enthusiast's or in spikes world anoraks

Second hand WR1 owners may tend to be more of a subaru enthusiasts who have owned classic and have been on various forums for a few years.

I was not a subaru enthusiasts I had 4 cars in mind before I bought my wr1 new focus rs, audi s4, bmw m3, and the WR1. I came on the forum before I got the car and found it very helpful once I got the car had no clue about the CDiff and put it in the last orange from lock and heard strange noises then found out that was normal from forum. My point is alot of people bought WR1,s and thought they would hold money like the P1,s now when price has come into the realms off the masses more people are signing up to the forum. Keep up the good work boys forum is great. This is my first turbo car and my first subaru so be gentle but my mission in my last car was to take the piss out of subarus in my 156gta very underated car but now i relise what a quick car is. But not quick enough never is.

plus credit crunch it gets blamed for every thing or swine flue didnt spot a post on here how you tell if your wr1 has swine flu

Its like any car really, as soon as it is affordable by the masses, then it changes hands more regularly.

Not the first car this has happened to and it wont be the last.

I've just added your comments to my "wa*k phrases" list identifiying phrases that sound as though they should mean something but actually mean nothing.... It's sitting amongst "Thinking outside the box".."Blue sky thinking".."Thrown in at the deep end".."You need to see the bigger picture".. etc etc
