Silverstone Supercar FIA GT Weekend

Postby RobinSherwood » Mon Apr 27, 2009 9:17 am

Hi everyone,

After lots of hard work from everyone in the team and a lot of late nights etc.,.. we have done a late deal to enter the FIA European GT4 Championship. At the moment our entry for the Silverstone round is confirmed and hopefully we will be able to secure a deal for the rest of the season after Silverstone.

Obviously Tom will be driving the car and we are delighted to have Formula Palmer Audi race winner and Formula Ford front runner Matt Hamilton joining us.

Silverstone will be tough as we will not have the opportunity to test with the car in GT4 spec or with the Pirelli tyres used in GT4 so when the car goes out for the first Free Practice it will be the first time either Tom or Matt will have driven it in this specification and as Matt is making the switch from single seaters to sportscars it will also be Matt's first time out in a sports racing car! He is another very talented young driver though and I am sure he will adapt very quickly.

If anyone from the WR1OC is coming to Silverstone on the 2nd or 3rd May come and find us in the paddock and say hello and I hope you will cheer Tom and Matt on in the GT4 races.

Attached is a pic from Brands Hatch with the car in it's new livery though for GT4 the rear wing has to come back off.

So far the Met Office forecast is mostly dry thankfully as the wet is not ideal for Matt to learn the car.

Look forward to seeing you there.

Will do, yes the ground clearance is pretty minimal. Thankfully the car has air jacks as you can't get a conventional jack underneath it.....

i was going to say how does it get on and off a trailer being that low... any kind of incline would scrape it no doubt...
