bbigman2000 wrote:Swede are you really bumming up a ford with a bloody volvo engine ? You get better every time you post man.

As bro rightly say's us M5 and Aston drivers really dont give a toss at the end of the day, and no matter how you chop and change your views the M5 is still a masterpiece and is still over 70 grand and is maybe outwith your reach financially which may lead you back to some sort of primival jealousy I dont know but its still one of the best car's on the road today.

:toofunny:

FPMSL !!!

Sure.

1. 70K... I thought you just bought your M5 second hand.

2. The M5 is a complete cock-up of a car. Bunch of engineers that tried to make a good engine, a good gearbox, etc and completely forget to talk to eachother.

3. Can you give me one reason I would be jealous of someone who has an M5 ?

72 Grand Mine was new mega, I bought it 18 months old with 15k on clock :D

I think you have answered your own question swede, you cannot afford one so obviously you are jealous of those who can.

And I'm in utter astonishment that you are rubbishing the work of BMW's motorsport divisions finest engineers and designers, and a car who's engine was engine of the year for 2 or 3 years running ?!

Bigman and Swede are the resident snobs on the WR1oc but they mean no harm... Just abuse them and smile at their banter.

I'd love either the M5 or the S-AMG. At least Bigman gets his car respectfully cleaned unlike the Stickman who takes it to a BP car wash.

So, youve never driven one...

...and you believe what Jeremy Clarkson says on a TV programme.

Can you see the flaw in either of your assuptions there :?

Personnally neither the M5 or the AMG float my boat, but thats just my taste. Both excellent cars i'm sure but dont really do what i'm looking for in a car. But then what idiot would spend £20k on a renault with plastic windows

I think Mega is referring to the test against the other car (forget what it was..) in top gear from 30mph... it just proved how big the turbo was.

The fact that the computer (because clearly Clarkson can't drive) just kept up with a new Lambo around the track....

I'll hold my hands up and agree that I'm a little snobbish about badges.

Recently, when I walked into the private Oracle Finance dealership in London and was offered the choice of a Bugatti Veyron, Ferrari 599, Mercedes SLR, BMW M5 and a WR1, the dealer told me that there were 4 sought after brands and 1 chavvy brand...

he couldn't say which one was the chavvy one because his boss was in ear shot but he did say that it was linked to Bavarian Motor Works... wasn't sure what he meant but retorted, it must be the M5 because everyone knows council estate drug dealers drive them

I do sympathise with your having to attend such backstreet finance houses in order to try and put yourself into a car John, Hopefully one day you will pull yourself off the breadline and be able to afford the things you purchase!

You are right, I cannot afford a car in this category.

So if you got it after 18 months, you got it for approx 30K, I assume ?

 Houses come first Bigman, with my brother I rent out houses in the London and SE area where I lived for 12 years. Bought some wrecks in 1993-95 when prices were depressed and renovated them myself.

If I sold them all, I'd be able to afford ALL of those cars on my spilt.

35... not that old... I bought some student places first when I was in Uni with my Brother... the "empire" just grew because you could buy 2-3 bed houses for 40-50k at the time (2k deposit on them @ 95% mortgage!) and prices rose fast from 96-2001. We put the deposits on a credit card and bought 4 at once  big risk but turned out well..

Once we graduated, we sold a few and bought private housing in better areas around Sussex and Surrey but kept a few student places but tbh they are a lot of hassle with the regulations and we got rid. Now is a good time to be investing again because you can get some real bargains in the reposession market.
