I never got lost just wanted to get the quickest route seeing monte blanc tunnel was a no go ! I reckon that I drove nearly 3600 miles in total
Just a shame I did'nt metion to Sweede that I was driving a relic
pre-war otherwise i'm sure Sweede would have found that we had to go via monaco/nice to get to adria.
Result didnt go our way, but that motorsport for you !

Mate, I really felt sorry for you

Good to see you're back !

They knew no more about the truck than me !
End of the day I enjoyed being involved, and would hopefully be able to go/do it again on some of the 4 events remaining......and we even had a few beers and a guiness

Would love to be able to do something like this... but all I could do is put fuel in the car and that is my limit of technical knowledge..... Even that I would probably get wrong unless the instruction was explicit!!

Read the updated thread by Robin He clearly explains the braking issues they were suffering.

Hi Martin,
I wanted to publicly thank you for your enormous commitment and hard work in making our racing at Adria a reality. At short notice, you went far more than the extra mile (no pun intended), and without your very generous help the task of racing in Italy would have been much more difficult.
The transport logistics were an absolute nightmare, but with Ginetta requiring us to take our car with less than 48 hours notice it is to be expected that with minimal planning time a series of unfortunate events would arise.
It's not a huge task to find someone to drive a truck, but it is an extremely difficult task to find the quality of individual to undertake the type of journey required, with really tight timescales, and someone that can be trusted and knowingly fit in with the team. The list of people we had to fulfill all criteria was short, and consisted of one name. Thank Heavens you agreed to help!
This is the power of friendships built through this forum. Everyone moves on, but we still help each other. Whilst not everyone will get along with everyone else it is personally reassuring to know there are people like yourself out there to help make Team GCR a success.
Thank you again for all your help.
