W.J.P.C. Airforce 3 Speed Run

Hi Guys, just some pics taken at yesterdays WJPC Meet at Throckmorton airfield. We had a total of 50 various cars turn out from Skylines through to Impreza’s with varying specs. WR1OC had the Splinter Cell contingent of Evo 3695, Mick Type R and myself.

It’s the first time I have done this kind of track run but found it to be bloody good fun.

Looks like a blast... I'm assuming you were having light hearted sprint races?

Who won the WR1 v WR1 runs?

Great pics.

Overall, Mick Type R was the quickest Impreza on the day with 360bhp and I have to admit it looked quick on the strip even against the Skylines.

On the first run Evo pissed all over me but on the second we were evenly matched. Both Evo and I run standard cars and 320bhp

Light hatred, no chance, some people were going for it big style.

Do you know the cost of organising such an event?

This is the third time that WJPC has run this event and they way they have done it is by kind permission of Marshalls Transport who own this section of the airstrip. Marshalls do not charge them for the use of the strip but WJPC ask for £5.00 per car which is donated to Marshall’s local charity. This year they had food and drinks which was also contributed to the charity. Not to sure how much we made yesterday but suspect about £350.00

Mick Type R took some 150 photos yesterday and I am sure will be adding to the thread in the coming days, he could tell you more about the how the event was put together and the agreements made with Marshall’s.

Mac/Evo have suggested that I might post up a few pics from WJPC Airforce 3 event so I'll post a few in here- General Scooby Chat as it wasn't anything organised by or for WR1oc.

JUST TO MAKE IT CLEAR guys, This is organised by us by very special permission. We really only get one shot at it per year as it's private land, NOT used for racing by anyone and is quite close to a village. There's no toilet facilities or stands etc etc and has to be kept a bit secret .The locals can certainly hear us and you can bet that there's much talk about it in the village for a few days after. Last time we donated half the money raised to their church roof appeal and I was photographed for the forum, handing a cheque over to a local councillor..........This time we are donating the lot to a Hospice chosen by the warehousing and transport company that operate from here and who 2 of our members work for !
So, it's a NO, NO to anyone else. On 99% of the photos, Ive blanked out the livery on the lorries but by now, you know who it is !!

OK................PHOTOS...............SHUT UP........and get posting NOW.....

And just to finish off..........This is one of my fav's from last year. It's taken after the event, the yellowing sun had nearly gone down and a mist was just rising . The owner has this pic framed on his desk !!

That's a small selection to give you a flavour of the day showing you a few different cars. I seem to have shot LOADS of skylines on Sunday,
but when I later thought about it, we did have 5 white skylines plus 2 black and one silver one ! You can see me lined up against a black one in one of Mac-s photos.

I scorched his ass!!!!! TWICE!
