Nice pics mate. Now you must be feeling the urge for a trackday surely!?!

Yeah well, it was an absolute blast. I went from slightly anxious to loving it within the first quarter of the first lap. Cheap trackday too (£50). Next year I will get the WR1oc involved. Wanted to check it out this year to see if it was a good event.

Top photos mate! I very nearly started a contract in RAF Valley developing the RAF's new fast jet training facility. Bit of a way to travel from Harrogate on a weekly basis though!!

Hope you had a great time, did you have much tyre tread left at the end? How long did you actually drive for roughly?

Tyres are holding up fairly well (Eagle F1's). They did appear to get a little soft after a few laps but this just resulted in a little more sideways action. I did 4x20 min sessions on the track. The new suspension (Exe-Tc's) and wheel alignment, supplied and fitted by Alyn @ AS Performance) is resulting in very even tyre wear and probably less wear than on the standard set-up even though I have given the car a beasting on the track. Someone suggested this is because the springs are softer and thus cause less tyre wear?

I think I'm going to get a new set of alloys for normal use and get a set of track tyres on the WR1 alloys.

To be honest I'm considering a different set of alloys. I have seen a set that I think will look really nice and will hopefully be better quality. The standard alloys are very poor IMHO. I will get mine refurbed so if I change my mind I can put them back on and keep the new alloys for the track.

If you are getting them refurbed let me know because I need to do mine, they are peeling!!

I designed the original flight simulators up there, for my old company. Was a cracking time spent on site setting them up! Must be getting very old and out of date now though!

Quality pics and looked a great day out....always think you learn so much about you and your car on these things = better on road driver IMO

john theres a place up near ravenscliffe that refurb alloys wheels. called CAS coatings. charges £1 per inch. 18" alloys £18 a alloy for the set. any color aswell. not 100% certain he could match the slight smoke on the WR1 alloys. but could look good in silver??
