The Three Dales Run 2008

Date: 25th / 26th October

This event will give new members a chance to get to know each other over a meal and a few drinks. Following this there will be a structured drive where a navigator should be used that will take you along some good driving roads showing you some of the sights from the three dales. The run will take you through Wharfedale, Nidderdale and Wensleydale.

There will be numerous stopping points on the way including a lunch stop for a chance to stretch legs etc. The reason for having a navigation manual is to prevent people having to drive like nutters to catch up if they get left behind at a junction or traffic lights etc. Some people even prefer 2min delay between cars setting off on an event like this to space the cars out but we will go with the flow on that depending on how many turn up. This should also give the other half something to do without getting bored .

There are two things to remember if attending this event. First of all please ensure you start the event with a full tank of fuel. I can direct you to local stations if required. Secondly if you are coming via Leeds city centre then watch out for a large number of speed cameras. These were put up following a spate of people rushing from the city centre to catch a plane and as a result causing several accidents.

7:30PM We can go for a pub meal and a few drinks at Yeadon Stoops Pub. I suggest people that are not local book a room at the Premier Inn next door to the pub so they can have a few drinks. I need to know numbers coming for the meal so that I can pre-book this.

Sunday
10:00am Navigation Booklets will be handed out one per car for people to read through and get to know. Once everyone is happy they know what they are doing then we will start the run and head off onto the first stopping point. The run is designed to start at 10:00 and finish between 14:00 and 15:00 if all goes to plan.

Here is an update on the Three Dales Run 2008!

Saturday 25th October

I have booked the table for Saturday 25th October at 7:30pm for 14 people. This is based on the list of people that have shown an interest of turning up for a drink and something to eat. The table is booked under my name: Martin Clark so ask a member of staff who will direct you accordingly if you don’t see me before hand. I suggest people try and turn up from 7:00pm – 7:30pm so that we can meet up either in the car park if its nice or at the bar before going to the table for a seat.

Sunday 26th October

The car run will start from Yeadon Stoops where we meet on Saturday night. Try and get there for 9:30am on Sunday morning and park up. I will be wandering around handing out the navigator booklets so shouldn’t be too hard to miss. The plan is to get everything ready for 10:00am start so that we make our lunch stop on time. Please ensure you fill up with fuel before you start the run, there are a few local garages around if anyone needs directions to these then let me know.

Finally if anyone is running late on Saturday or Sunday then please let me know, my mobile number is 07718 518529. On Saturday im sure people will start ordering food within 10/15 mins of sitting down. On Sunday if anyone hasn’t turned up by 10:00am who hasn’t let me know before hand then sorry but you will be left behind.

Thanks once again to everyone who is coming along to this event. I am sure it will be good fun and a chance to give the cars a good run before the wintery weather closes in on us.
