Dyno Day

Postby Weltmeister » Fri Jun 17, 2005 2:24 pm

Hi WR1 Owners
Just a few notes for you ref Saturday

It is supposed to be hot so remember sunblock & hats etc.
Small children need to be supervised as cars will be moving around
Fill your intercooler spray bottles
Optimax will give best results on the day
Avoid Octane boosters if possible
Remember to bring a good supply of liquids & food
Our facilities for refuse disposal are limited so please be thoughtfull

Upon arrival at Silverstone main gate, proceed forward until 1st roundabout [Audi in glass case] turn right [3rd exit] proceed straight ahead through two swing gates, turn at bottom and form up. Come into the workshops and look for WRC personnell [in WRC white/blue shirts] then sign on.
Please remember to bring cash,
Weltmeister

I'm glad someone's posted their figures. I thought you'd all stayed at WRC for the weekend to look at the tuning packages they do!

Well guys, I expected to see a flood of figures posted :?

With the lack of posts I can only assume most were actually dissapointed with the results they got. :(

C'mon guys, how about sharing the details.
Or at the very least a post to define the overall outcomes against the expected or rather Subaru claimed figures please.

Re: WRC Technologies Rolling Road 18th June !

Postby WR1 Bro » Tue Jun 21, 2005 12:24 pm

[quote="Chris B"]We have just got back from WRC Technologies at Silverstone and to say we are impressed, is a bit of an understatement. They are operational, but there is still some work to be done in the workshop and rolling road bay, so there are builders and all their stuff all over the place and they hope to be finished in a couple of weeks. We were given a guided tour by one of the partners whose name escapes me - sorry :( - (they have been on here to have a look at us) and then spoke to Chris Davies the other partner.
Their dyno is a state-of-the-art 4 wheel drive, can measure up to 2400bhp at the wheels, is adjustable for length and has up to the minute safety features. Apart from the huge fan at the front, they will test with the bonnet up with another fan directed straight at the intercooler. I think there are a total of 11 fans in the dyno bay during each run. When we arrived they had just had an ST1 8 on the rollers and a Nissan Sunny ready to go on. The printout you get is very comprehensive with several pages of very detailed information and graphs, they've even got a small unit that gives information on atmospheric conditions, humidity etc.
They are really keen to have the WR1oc there for a rolling road day and will get Japanese Performance Mag or Banzai to cover the event, so they want as many as possible there, (but not restricted to just WR1s of course  Jason, Brian and whoever else)
Finally, the cost. Up to 12 cars -

Geometry Check

Postby Weltmeister » Tue Jun 21, 2005 7:30 pm

I think there may have been a little mix up. Chris had a brief conversation with Rosy when her & Chris first came to view our facilities. There was mention that a geometry check was possible but only if numbers were very low. As I'm sure most of you saw, the alignment bay is directly opposite the Dyno entrance. So with 18-20 cars running it is necessary to have a "production line" approach to get through the cars in a reasonable time scale.

On days of 6-10 cars we can do both but not on days involving more than 10. Perhaps this did not come across well in the initial conversation.

I apologise if some individuals expected this as well but on the day it was just not possible.

Regards

Allan

Hi Alan, thanks for clearing that up, we appreciate the fact that so many cars made this impossible this time, but I'm sure there will be other opportunities. In case no one has already said it, thanks for a great day. We were very impressed with the set up and the service you and Chris provided for us. Thanks also for getting Chris B in so early on Wednesday morning. Looking forward to another RR in the future.
