Swede you are on with Spike. All you need to do is book the space, we will tell them closer to the time who is driving which car on which days, so you dont need to let BaT know who you are shairing with at this stage.

Looks like my family will be in Mexico on those dates now, so I might well be up for this now. It will probably just be the social side, and I'll have to jump in with somebody else for the trip over, but depending on what the costs come out to (ferry & hotel) you will probably have my unerring wit and charm to guide you through the alcoholic haze-filled days.

Guys bear in mind that Sandy now has a spare slot, and I think Martin still has a spare slot? If this continues to be the case it would be worth adding Sandy as the second driver on Martins booking with the space and cancelling one booking, IIRC you'll get 90% of the money back as long as it's done a month or so beforehand..

Hopefully we'll get more interest in the meantime, or kidnap Spike and make him come with us

we're going to need to start getting sorted on this soon for ferries and accommodation.

Ferry looks like approx £70 return based on 1 car with 2 people in it.

Sandy, can you suggest hotels?

I'd suggest we go over on the Sat or Sunday 2nd/3rd. Then come back Wednesday Thursday 6th/7th. What dooes anyone else think?

Guys can i propose the following Ferries:

Dover - Calais Sun 3 Aug 2008 09:25
Calais - Dover Thu 7 Aug 2008 16:10

I have be be around on the Saturday so cant leave then. If some people want to leave a day earlier day or two later, this shouldnt be an issue. Price for this ferry is £60 for the return trip based on a car with 2 passengers.

Pooster - if you guys want to stay at our place on the Saturday night and go from here Sunday morning- that is OK.

Sandy - are you travelling from the UK?

If we're OK with this can we get booked up through the p&o website www.poferries.com and we can then focus on getting hotels sorted?

Please let me know...

Hi Guys,

I might see if the father in law fancies a lads trip to spa if the missus turns her nose up at this. What I need to know is costings etc. Are we all going to catch the same ferry and convoy over there or are we making our own way over there and sorting our own accomodation etc out?

Just multimap'd it and it looks to be 220ish miles away from calais... dont know how long it will take us to drive there though?

The cost of the track is £225 per car for a open pit lane spread over 2 days.

The cost of the ferry (dover /calais) is £60 if booked asap, the longer it is left the dearer it will become.

Yes we will be all travelling together in convoy.

Accomodation will be sorted out so were all together, Sandy (sweede) is from Belgian and he knows the best places to stay with cost in mind. So hopefully he will sort us with a good place at a good price.

Fuel will be as much as your mileage.
It will be about 1200 miles for us down here in cornwall so about 5/6 tanks travelling, plus possibly 2 tanks on track, about £350/450.

do it !
