Staying (thurs to sun) in swansea this year in an apartment near the marina, the service area usually at Felindre has been relocated to the marina in this year.

Looking forward to it as usual 8)

I have booked the tickets for the Sunday and looking at the stages will probably hit the Trawscoed stage for both runs. It’s doubtful that we can get to any other stage in time.

We then plan to go down to service later in the afternoon. Has anybody else decided on what they are doing yet?

I have been to this for many years but am not going to bother this year - few up of getting increasingly ripped off, increasingly further away from the action and increasingly wrapped in cotton wool and prevented from driving anywhere between the stages or from walking along the stages to get to a better viewing point.

Without sounding really old (which I am) it was much better in the 70's and 80's and even in the 90's.

Now you dont even get sprayed in gravel travelling at 100 mph - where's the fun in that ?

I agree Duncan it has gone Health & Safety mad nowadays, does pay to get to stages early so you can walk to better viewing areas if you know where your going. We tend to find new spots every year, managed to find a good one last year, full gravel in face, sideways action 8)

Speed camera vans between stages are also f*****g

Still love the atmosphere of the whole weekend though, no other motorsport event like it 8)

I will miss it no doubt. I have been going almost every year for the past 32 years since Roger Clark first drove the Escort Mk2's in anger.

I enjoyed Halfway stage last year - great fast and open but they had santised so much of it that we had to walk for ages to get somewhere dangerous

I just think it is a shame that they have taken away the best part ....

The stage hopping was awesome. Watching the top 20 go through and then running back to the car and flying up the road to a next stage to watch them through and so on and so on for a few days. Class IMO.

My best moment was Henning Solberg clipping a load of logs and spun out in the direction of me an H and hit the tree I was leaning against. Pasty was on Eurosport that night giving Henning a push and breaking his rearer carbon spoiler off

Those moments make it worthwhile 8)

Take it it was all that weight that held the tree up, and broke off the spoiler

I agree with Dynamix though, you don't get sprayed anymore.
