I am thrilled to announce the details of our forthcoming Christmas Bash.

This will take place over the weekend of Friday 7th and Saturday 8th December and promises to be an absolutely superb weekend!

We have provisionally booked 15 double rooms at The Glebe Hotel in Barford, Warwickshire, for both the Friday and the Saturday. I can secure further rooms, if needed, but you'd better be quick!

On the Friday evening we will have a special Xmas meal at the hotel, but not as a private party. Instead we will have some heavy-hitting entertainment provided by a Tina Turner Tribute. I can only imagine what Spike might do - probably try and join in! We will have our own tables though, so we will all be together to laugh at each other , but we will be amongst others as I am keen to see this event as being less formal than some previous ones. I also want to make it child-friendly and I'll work on that over the the next few weeks.

The crowning glory will be on the afternoon of Saturday 8th December where we will go to a location nearby and enjoy a 'Mud & Mayhem' activity package. This will include three of the following options:

4x4 Off Road Driving
Powerturn Driving
Argo Cats
Reverse Steer Snooker
Quad Bikes

FULL ITINERARY BREAKDOWN:

Friday 7th December

14:00 Arrive at the hotel from any time after this. Friday will be a relaxed day to allow people to travel if they wish to come early.

20:00 Xmas Dinner and entertainment from a Tribute band

Saturday 8th December

Breakfast and Alka Seltzer at your leisure

13:00 - 16:00 Adventure afternoon at Adventure Sport. I'll lead way from the hotel as I know where I'm going. Your challenge will be to stay behind the 1.5R!!

16:00 - 20:00 Back to the hotel. Freshen up and relax

20:00 - LATE The evening's entertainment. Relaxed and informal - the idea is to have fun and enjoy yourself amongst the company of friends. Choose from the following menu on the evening: http://www.glebehotel.co.uk/christmas-tribute-menu.html. For those who hae enjoyed the Xmas menu the previous evening an altrnative men can be provided. We are also working on providing a disco later in the evening.

PRICES AND JOINING INSTRUCTIONS

This is the important part!

We have 15 double rooms reserved at The Glebel Hotel. The cost is £80 B&B per night, based on two adults sharing either a twin or double room. I will make enquiries about family rooms for those who need it.

The Friday evening will cost £34.95 per head. This includes your Christmas meal and the entertainment. Sadly it doesn't include drinks

The Saturday evening meal will cost approximately £20 per head, depending on the menu you choose from. Again, drinks will be extra

You will be responsible for booking your own accommodation. To do so, please contact Jayne or Hailey at the Glebe Hotel on 01926 624218 and quote 'WR1 Owners Club' to get the discounted rate. They will be happy to answer any questions you might have and a set of directions is on their website.

You will be responsible for paying me for the Saturday afternoon adventure sport excursion The price will be £65 per person. In order to secure your place I will need your money no later than FRIDAY 19TH OCTOBER. Please contact me direct via PM for transaction details.

This is shaping up to be the best event of the year. You will notice that at the top of this thread there is a new way of recording your plan to attend. Please do click and let me know what you want to do.

As this is a large event with partners and possible children, I'll keep to the usual format and start the ball with options.

Fraser, I have just received this menu off the hotel but the menu isn't finalised for Sat 8th Dec. Not sure about the entertainment either.

I've posted it incase anyone staying on the Friday wants to know.

I've eaten there before, albeit some years ago, and the food was absolutely superb. If there are few takers for the Friday night then that is most probably the menu we will have for the night. As far as I know there is no requirement to pre-order.

If there are people staying on Friday night then I have agreed with The Glebe that they will supply an alternate menu for Saturday night, but only for those that have stayed on the Friday night.

The entertainment may look like you need a shell suit to enjoy it, but it is included and being thoroughly Scottish I couldn't turn it away.

If there are no real takers for the Friday night (and by this, I mean that I need to know what Sandy is really doing) then I will focus my efforts on the club meal for Saturday alone and work with the hotel on that basis.

There is still some time to get the hotel sorted, but not much time for the Saturday afternoon excursion.

Thanks to everyone that has both registered and confirmed so far. I will be confirming shortly (after getting hold of Dan and probably sharing a room with him) so there will be a couple more of us appearing in the confirmed list

Can I ask for some more people for the Saturday afternoon excursion. We really need about 18 people to make this work (3 teams of 6 people competing). For those of you that have said you want to do the Saturday afternoon adventure I'll contact you shortly about payment as I'll need to receive this by 20th October so I can pay for the venue. I don't want to take money from you yet as we need greater numbers. If we can't get enough people there is a risk we may have to cancel the Saturday afternoon . So, MORE PEOPLE PLEASE!!!!!!!!
