Southern Big One - July/August 2005

It looks like us southern lot are going to have some sort of event along the lines of the Northern Big one this year. Ideas being floated at the moment are a similar event to JapFest however incorporating activities for cars also. Possibly the use of a test track or airfield.

People are signing up fast for this and I said I would post up on here for the organiser. I'll definately be in attendance - hopefully lots more of WR1oc will also.

It won't clash matey ... the organiser of the NBO is chatting with the scoobynet bloke to arrange a suitable date - apparently he is saying he can bring loads down with him. Hope to see ya there.

Thanks for posting this on here matey and thanks to everyone else for posting your interest.

Still looking into venues and dates but it will not clash with any other events, especially NBO.

As for suggestions on what to do there - your ideas would be most welcome as I intend to make it an event that everyone will get something out of.

Right folks

Date & Venue decided and provisionally booked.

Sunday 3rd July at Beale Wildlife Park near Reading and very easy access from J12 of M4. Map here

I was really hoping to use a venue such as an Airfield and hold a 1/4 mile drag strip - but alas there just isn't enough time to be able to confirm that this could take place this summer and I want to give you all as much notice as possible. However plans will be laid for such an event next year

As well as a large parking area (field) and trade stands, you will get discounted access to the Wildlife Park itself.

I don't want to commit to too many details just yet as I am going to meet the Events lady at Beale Park on Monday 21st Feb. After then I will confirm details and start a new thread - just want to keep you all posted on progress so far.
