is'nt it the members that now make this club due to the fact that most of the people who keep it going DO NOT drive "1's"

Admitedly the cars brought us together but I think it smoved on alot since then.

I asked the question to the organisers of the shoot out and as I have informed Dan in a PM, every one is welcome but only Subarus will be able to go on the stand, the other cars will have to use the public car park, there words not mine. The original thread title was WR1's wanted, as in, the cars, the organisers are wanting to put on a good show. I agree the club as moved on and maybe it now requires a name change, M & S Ltd editon club, or something.

Just catching up, guys, and this thread seems very emotive right now.

I may have missed something through the previous pages (though I hope not), but I'd like to express my thanks to anyone who undertakes a meeting of the WR1 club. It is hard work, but entirely necessary if we are to remain alive as a close community. This event's organisers are doing little to assuage rising animosity.

Should the organisers insist on purely WR1's then that is their perogative, but I do have one tiny question.....

Were only WR1's invited or was the WR1OC invited?

It's an important point. If only WR1's have been invited then the organisers are of course at liberty to reject a Honda Civic with a WR1 badge. However, if the WR1OC has been invited then our WR1OC club must surely be at liberty to bring any of its members cars to the stand irrespective of its pedigree.

I grant you we may look slightly odd with non-Subaru cars but if organisers really want to be anal about it then surely they're limiting the number of potential attendees and exhibitors. As long as the cars draw a crowd of performance car enthusiasts then what's the problem?

Also, have the organisers specified whether the WR1's are to be standard or are modified WR1's to be allowed? I can guarantee that they don't care so long as the car is the right colour and has bodywork approaching standard specification

MickC - - what help do you need? Currently I would not qualify to be entered as I do not own a WR1 and I'll be damned if somebody out there believes they have the right to suggest who should be a member of our club by proxy.

Umm this is why i dont organise events.
Mick c asked the sso if he have a place so that we could try and put a stand togeather with 12 WR1's on it.
This i feel has may have upset some of the WR1oc members as not all have 1's any more.
But it was never ment to do this.
If we could'nt get 12 1's i believe we were going to let other scoobs from the WR1oc as Mick was told Scoobys ONLY.

I may also now need to be taken off the list.
As i will soon be starting a new job and i think this falls wrong for the SSO.
