Bruntingthorpe - On-Your-Marks

Postby Rosy B » Tue Jan 30, 2007 12:39 pm

Well it's that time of year again boys and girls. The date for the charity track day at Bruntingthorpe is Sunday 29th July. The format for this year's event is slightly different. There will only be 8 gates and we will be responsible for running our own gate. We are one of only 7 car clubs invited and there will be no individual people turning up on the day. The organisers noticed last year that several people spent all day taking their mates round the track and didn't appear to be taking paying customers. I have been asked to make clear that this is a charity event, and therefore people who do not enter into the spirit of the thing should not apply.
We will be able to set up our gate with our club banner etc, the night before. We will have six cars at our gate at any one time and they must go through our own gate and not anywhere, like last year. It got a bit hectic and disorganised last time and they want to avoid the queues and bottlenecks that happened.

If I had a cat I would kick it, well we haven't, so I will have to kick Lynn instead. I can get away with saying that, as she's in the bath at the mo, shhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Well who ever goes enjoy it and I will look forward to the pictures again this year.

Ta for that Dan.

Sorry about the date mick c but unfortunately it's out of my control. The date gets moved around every year to fit in with other events and the organisers have to clear it with local authorities. Also the locals have to be informed and given time to voice any objections, but you'd think they would be more understanding since it is for charity and no doubt a few of them come to the event anyway.

Anyone new to this should have a look at the pics from last years event. I've asked about the DVD from last year but it seems to be taking them ages to sort it out.

Just found out that Ten of the best is on at Elvington on the same day 29th July. That will probably cut the numbers at brunters.
Also Scooby shoot out is on 27th May at Elvington, anyone up for that, Perhaps we could get the WR1 banner out. Come on :woohoo: :woohoo: I am home for that one at least.

I miss Thoresby park though,   I hate being emotional

Shame this clashes with other stuff going on. We probably would have gone to TOTB with RCM. But never mind, this will be loads more fun plus you'll get that warm fuzzy feeling for having done your bit for charity.

I wonder if Rosy could tell us how to go about booking a plot at the scooby shoot out, for the WR1 Owners club that is. Looks like me and Gaz will go, anyone else. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
