Not sure how to raise this above the other posts in terms of attention.

Give me a clue! How about a serious run along with a meet and food at this place below? I haven't contacted them yet, but... What do you fancy doing?

I'm happy to do the leg work, but time is short!!

We'd be up for it - you guys didn't put us off at our first mtg on the 16th July (Sunday lunch)!

We could do 17th or 24th Sept, but not the 1st Oct - that's day of the Great North Run and Shona is running for charrritttyyyy, (RNLI)!

'ello Trev! Good to have you back. Sounds like this caper is as easy as fitting toothpaste back in the tube and peeps seem to be loaded up with other events, particularly with the Xmas bash looming.

So... everyone... what do we prefer? A day out or save the money for some track time later on in the year? For me, track time wins hands-down (although that wouldn't take long at my height).

Perhaps we need a new forum for track events? What does everybody reckon?

Cheers Frase'! Nice to be back and involved. :woohoo:

Still a kept man at present! :( So probably for us, best start saving for the Xmas bash. Any good corners for busking in that there Warwickshire town of yours??

Your analogy re. the toothpaste seems accurate! :thumb:

As for the track forum - my comments are..........consideration must be given to work involved in modifying the web page and if benefits could be gained from splitting them from the WR1OC Organised Events forum. Perhaps some number data collection and analysis of what has been posted in there since day 1. If track events are prevalent, then it could be justified.

Good points, Trev :thumb: How was the hols in France? With hindsight there's not enough merit in splitting the events fora up just yet, I guess.

Seems most folks are saving. Either that or I've chosen a restaurant that's not suitable.

LAST CALL... are we doing this or not? Alternatively I can go and fit a sunroof to a motorbike - less effort and more gain :tumble:

The trouble is this is a national forum, not a local area one !"
Its not possible to travel for every WR1OC event .......... for example I will be in Stevenage on Sunday 24th Sept, and its seems its more conveinent to have a meet on the 1st October for most others, so will miss out on a meet again

And travelling some 600 miles round trip for a sunday pub lunch seems a little extravagent
Is there any here that would do 600 miles for a sunday lunch, and do it in a day.......I think not

If there was a track event / show etc and there were several people stopping over night in a hotel, and do some WR1 socialising :drunk: it would be more viable for us and also for a lot of others

Rant over

Hmm - seems like the most successful meets are the ones where we go racing. Frankly, I think that's about right. Who wants to drive a lot of miles just to park up and have a meal when you have to come so far that your fuel bill is double your food bill  . You might as well do it on your own patch. Maybe that's why there's often a lukewarm response to a weekend run, but I accept that it does depend on where you live. Some of our clan have a great time getting together whilst others never get the chance to join in.

This is all about enjoying our cars. Not everybody has to put their cars on the track.

I'll give this some thought...
