I thought this as well, and the skylines. They are better than that im sure. TBH i think there were not a lot of people in non subarus going very fast.

The 2 guys with us in the M5 and M3 were going ok, and the lad with us in the silver CTR was trying but i did not notice anyone else trying hard. did not come across the white exige.

Yeh the white exige was very very impressive ... but if I had forked out 35k for a car and then another 20k for all the engine work to get that Type R engine in then I would EXPECT it to to perform.

Skyline boyz (and girls) were def driving the cars very gingerly. Very fragile engine so I'm told and I would hate to see a rebuild cost on that gorgeous V Spec Nur!

Spoke to they guy with the white exige - borrowed a couple of his tools infact - and he said he paid 20k for the car, which he described as a tired example, but one which he knew was a straight car and which he intended to re-fresh with a new engine anyway. He reconed he'd spent a further 20k on the car to get it to the level it was at currently.

Huss had a run in it and confirmed as we all suspected - quick car. My favourite on the day for sure.

Still a lot of cash for that. Not being funny but he could have bought an FQ400 for that money and had a better all round car!

Each to their own though ... was a lovely sounding motor. All the others were shite however! Would like to see how that new 240R version goes based on Sunday.

Are you on about the blur R34 V spec skyline Gangsta? I went past him on the back straight pretty easily

Na the grey one ... with the vented bonnet. I believe it was a V Spec II Nur - circa 580bhp.

Blue one was running a tad under 400bhp apparently.

Yer there was some slowish skylines.
I did a GTS25 over on the back straight
Had a go in the silver R33 GTR that was running 400BHP
But it was 1600kgs in weight so it felt about the same as the 1.
That was 10MPH faster down the straight than my 1.
My best was 133-135ish.
Through the corners it was so much faster than the 1 though :(
But it was wearing 265 all round.

The yellow porsche RS was the best for me though.
It was miles faster that any other car i got to have a go in and so controlable.
He had the tail wagging like an exited puppy though nearly every corner.
He hit 155 down the straight too.
Shame i did'nt get to go round with posey so i could compare them :(
The WR1oc still rocks...

Could'nt go through the corners any faster without the back coming round
as it started to do on more than 1 occasion.
Think the fatter tyres and the 4 wheel steer helped the skyline.
That my excuse any way

How about on the grass? Less friction = more speed?

OOPS. I was sideways when i hit the grass. I believe there is a lot of friction to slow you down when you try to push the tyres sideways.

Maybe you can confirm? As you are a bit teccie today

Even robo cop in his type 20 only got to 137mph on the straight.
Dont know what bhp he's got under the bonnet.

If you exit the last bend 10mph faster then all other things equal (and assuming the car is not maxed out) a lot of that extra speed will still be with you at the end.

Dont forget that as well as having over 400 BHP my car is 200 odd KG lighter than a WR1 and still a lot lighter tha a spec C. It would show over 150 every lap on the speedo, which is low 140's true speed

That sounds about right given the power differences and wieghts of the cars.

Was'nt bitching mark.
Went for a lap with you and your car can carry more speed though the corners.
I was on the edge though the sweeping corner on to the back straight.
Could'nt go any faster as i was nearly hitting the cones on the outside  and could only max 135.
 to the evo for corner speed...

I know you were not bitching, just explaining that your entrance spped onto the straight makes a difference (especially on a fast corner like the one at Brunters) Did not realise i had took you for a lap. why did you not introduce yourself!

I did mark but i think you were into banging round the track more than taking names.
It was me that told you that you could take people round if they had a yellow band on...
