NBO 11

Well this is it!!!

After months (and 11years) of planning we finally go Live again with 12 weeks to go

and We at Cumbrian Scoobs still look the same !!

NBO 11 will be held on Sunday 30 June 2013

Lightwater Valley Theme Park
Ripon
N Yorkshire
HG4 3HT
This is a central location within the uk and offers fantastic facilities including toilets and catering and of course the theme park for the Kids and young at heart and as always a reduced admission charge and they have given us a special field to us so all money raised goes into our Charity fund.

NBO 11############

--------------------------

NORTHERN BIG ONE 11(NBO)

MISSION STATEMENT

To bring together Subaru owners from different British clubs and companies, in order to promote Subaru ownership and the Subaru brand, to provide information for potential Subaru owners, and through the generosity of NBO attendees collect donations for worthy causes *

--------------------------------------------------------------

*Since the start of the NBO concept over £52,000 pounds have been raised for our chosen charities.
Last year we raised over £5,300 for the Injured Fire Fighters Charity.
Trevor In his first year as NBO fundraising officer did a fantastic job with the rest of the Cumbrian scoobs team in raising this amount.

Thanks to everyone for this fantastic figure raised.

The Northern Big One (NBO 11 ) 2013 will be the 11th year of the 15 year plan ,that Cumbrian Scoobs (CS) have organised the event and is now a permanent fixture on the Scooby calendar and has been the Biggest Subaru show in the UK for many years now.

The <vision> is simple, Subaru owners meet up in a field once a year to admire each other’s cars and be part of the great community we are in.

The concept has now been taken further as it has developed with a Car of the day Competition in it’s own Arena with some great revised classes to enter, this is a great part of the fundraising and a chance for your car to be in the arena and this year we have again recruited some top judges to sort out the best cars in the UK.

There is also a chance for all the Subaru Clubs in the UK to get their Club stands out and show off their Club displays to everyone and of course compete for the Club Stand of the day and the Big Gold Cup and runner up prizes

The King of the ring last year was Richard and the north Wales group who have been in the top 3 places in the last three years they have entered, a small group with fantastic visions.

Last year for the first time we took judges from every club and fourteen people walked round with us to view the clubs
The clubs gave a presentation about themselves and I gave a brief summary about the clubs
Each judge scored on this and Elaine totalled up the scores for the top five .
I was delighted how this worked and personally would have picked the same order that the new judges picked so it was a great success
I'm really excited about this and looking forward to even better displays from the clubs for NBO 11.

One of the reasons we decided on this is that the judges can go back to their own club stands with ideas from other clubs to make their own stands even better.

All 14 clubs last year made such a fantastic effort to buy into the NBO concept with great displays and cars.

It really makes the show so great for us all.
Please take time to walk around all the club displays rather than sit on your own section.

This year as it is so busy we are starting at 10.30 AM although Club stands and Traders ONLY will be permitted at intervals between 8.30-930 AM to give every one time to set up ready for the 350-400 cars which have turned up every year .

Convoys again will be from Scotch corner and ferryhill (details will follow later on this)

The charge for entry to the field is £10 donation per car as it ALL goes to charity

This year we want to raise the most EVER to raise our total to 60k !!

the Charity buckets are sealed So NO CHANGE GIVEN ###

Lots of Information will follow shortly so look out for the NBO 11 information Thread soon regarding club stand plots and competion information and closing dates for club registration and cut of date for people attending
can we keep this thread for the list only ##

#################

STOP PRESS

Northern big One

we are now on FACEBOOK
can everyone join up as a fan as we have set a target of 500 fans

This year we have a great new major sponsor who stepped in to SAVE the show after Total impreza disappeared .

Oliver and The Green Goblin display.

As some of you know we run the NBO on a very tight shoe string budget of less than £1,100 as all donations go to charity so thanks to our traders who help keep us afloat as we have struggled over the last few years with rising insurance costs/trophies etc.
##############################################
--------------------------------------------------------------------

This year we also have the great website
Thanks to Mariousz our official NBO photographer and NBO website programmer

http://www.northernbigone.co.uk/index.html

Lots of hard work has gone into this website and we will post further information on it and of course on our NBO Facebook page as we have communications to you all.

As always you MUST REGISTER for the event as we need accurate numbers for
1. Insurance requirements
2. Planning space for our team of Marshalls to park you quickly as you could imagine parking 400+ Scoobies in less than 1 hour is quite a logistics exercise.

This year as always we have allocated the first few numbers of the famous list to the NBO committee in recognition of the hard work that they do to make the NBO a success
Last year we had 25 coming on board to help out as the NBO requires hugh planning and work on the day itself to make it run smoothly.
Thanks go to those involved

As always we require the following Information ##

Name e.g. lord Harding

Model e.g. Turbo

Year e.g. MY00

clubs e.g. CS

100 (miles) ##

and MOST IMPORTANT ###
IF YOU ARE member of a group e.g. Cumbrian Scoobs, Etc or LEAVE BLANK if you are an independent ( Billy No Mates ) as we use this information to work out how many owners are linked to groups

This is so important as these figures will and can change the layout of the field to fit in the club stands and arena.
e.g. club stands and owners round the edges, independent owners in the middle
let’s see how many fail to follow these basic Instructions!!!!!!!!!

Also again we require ######

THE DISTANCE THAT YOU TRAVEL TO LIGHTWATER VALLEY
One way e.g. 50/100 / 150 miles
These figures are very important for us for any change of venue in the future planning or Similar events we would consider holding

and lets see who can paste and copy !!! there is always the odd one who gets it wrong!
--------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Last year lots of the clubs registered in bulk which kept the list tidy and helped the club stand managers sort out their numbers and space for their displays

As always the first few hours for registration are well er..Fast and furious for the magic low numbers so please check back to make sure you are still on the list!!

Well here we go then enough ramblings from Lordy!!

( no camping on site this year Unfortunately due to H&S ,security etc but accommodation is available nearby )
Check out the Light-water Valley links page if you wanted to camp near the NBO field and there is lots of accommodation in the various towns close to LV .

A separate thread will follow in Mid April for Club Stand Registration
With Dead line for Club registration at the END of April
A minimum 12 cars would be required for a separate Club Stand spot on the Field

If your NOT on this list by the END of MAY you won't be able To go onto the NBO field

Seems like Health and Safety and Security are excuses to stop people camping at this event. Would have loved to go if we could take our tent and make a weekend out of it. So would rather go to the JPOC weekend................its a shame, as it sounds like a great event.
