Bruntingthorpe..... The Day.

Postby Chris B » Sat Aug 13, 2011 8:17 pm

And what a day it was, sorry a few of you could not make it,but we did really well,£1700 raised, our top amount ever, well done to all of you, great drivers, great people,we had worn tyres, hot brakes, knackered drivers but you still did the business.
RCM ran the Gobstopper, bloody hell, those of you that went in it can comment on your rides.
Get the pictures up ASAP.
Once again, thanks to you all,top club, top people, roll on next year.
Heaven can wait....I'm playing with my scooby.

I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone involved for making it such a memorable Saturday. I had no idea such an event was on my doorstep.

Thanks especially to Chris & Mrs B (very nice to meet you) for organising the WR1 part of it, and also to the chap who took me for a lap (and whose name eludes me I'm afraid - it was a 440bhp '1') - my back is just about returning to normal again now! I've never been so fast in a car before.

What an excellent day.

Hi Chris :)

Great to see you and Rosy again yesterday, thanks for sending me the forms. Soooooooooooo good to finally get my ride out in the Gobstopper at long last too. They say you should never meet your heroes face to face, in case the reality doesn't match the legend..........but it certainly did NOT disappoint, if anything I love that car even more now! And as for Olly...........damn, he's got some skills behind the wheel! Was nice to be asked by Olly to bring my own car over to their area of the paddock too :D

Here's my pics from the day, feel free to use them wherever/whenever if they're suitable.

I had a brilliant day yesterday, I'm sure Emma did as well, still can't believe I let her have a go ! I think I've got the track day bug now so I've been having a look to see if I can find any of interest and I stumbled acrossed this... http://www.howfast.co.uk/
Anyone interested? I've never organised anything like this before so just thought I'd see what people thought first rather than making it an event on here...

i will get my few photos up as soon as i can. one question, i saw photographers stationed around the track, who no doubt took photo's on me doing some laps. were these photographers part of the event? if so, will they have a website or a contact somewhere where we can get any photo's of us driving?
