Booked our room now for £55 on the Friday night. I take it we are doing the same plan as usual, meet and fill up at the Shell garage before convoying in?

As we only live 10 minutes from Bruntingthorpe, would anyone have any objections if we brought our BBQ along and did some bacon rolls and hot dogs for free (all voluntary donations to the event) just for the 1 club members. Dont want to tread on anyones toes.

Steve, a BBQ would be a nice idea but there's a strict policy in place prohibiting BBQ's and alcohol, so you can't I'm afraid. It's the old "Elf 'n' Safety" at work. The food stalls are all run by the Asda people and it's good value for money and all the proceeds go into the charity pot for the day.
Martin, I'm glad the hotel booking is sorted, you'd think they'd tell all reception staff about any offers to avoid this kind of mix-up. The pre-event meet at the hotel is a definite. OYM organisers have laid on a shuttle to the Hinckley Knight for any one wanting to eat there so we can have a chat about what everyone wants to do nearer the day.
Unfortunately, the Shell garage is closing on Monday for 3 months for refurbishment. Chris only found out the other day when he called in to fill up. We'll locate alternatives for people to fill up on the way and let you all know.

You'll have to get up a bit earlier than you'd planned We have to be there preferably before 8.00 to set up and register, as the ground opens at 8.00 and the track opens at 9.00. Chris will post up details about where to meet.

Bruntingthorpe meeting place will be the same as always,opposite the Shell station on the B4114 post code LE9 6QD.
We will meet at 7am,I know its early but we need to be there for the 8am registration.
We will have all the passes for you when we meet and Rosy and me will be coming to the Barcelo on Friday evening to meet up with those of you staying there so wear you WR1 tops.
Those of you coming later or are not able to get to the meeting place,PM me your address and we will post a pass out to you.
Remember not to ask us to post a pass if you are meeting up with us so we are not wasting stamps.
Here are 2 more shell stations,LE5 2BE, which is on the A47 Uppingham Road and LE3 8GJ,on the A50 Groby Road.
I will ask RCM to bring some NF so you can add this to your fuel if you have to top up with 97 octane,its approx £15/bottle,but will keep things sweet.

Chris, is this the Shell petrol station near to the Mill on the Soar? ( Saw you there recently) If so then it's the one i normally use only the last time I went (end of July) it was closed down for a refurb. I've been away on holiday so have not driven passed in the last 3 weeks but when I spoke to the guys working on it they said it'd be closed for approx 12 weeks? I could be wrong but if guys and girls are travelling with the intention of refuelling at the meeting place they could be in for a shock? Can you confirm? Thanks!

Yes it is the same shell station,I thought it best we meet there as thats where we normally meet but everyone needs to fill up before they get there.

Unfortunately work has flared up over the weekend and I am going to spend most of next week either in Warsaw or Munich, looks like I'll be flying back to the UK on Saturday so now can't make this

SMASH AND GRAB brekie unless we can be fashionably late could we meet at 7;15?

7.15 is going to have to be the absolute latest we leave as I have to be at Bruntingthorpe to attend the compulsory drivers briefing at 8.00. The track opens at 9.00 so we need people to help set up our gate and get the cars organised if we are going to turn up at the last minute.

Quick one - Do we need to wear helmets? and do we need to provided them for our passengers?
