Hi all, I'm very interested in this but wondered what the format of the day is... There seems to be a lot of interest across multiple car forums with people wanting to attend but I'm not clear how the track time and passenger thing works? Also is it a day that my Mrs and little fella would be ok coming along to or would they just get bored?

I'm keen to come along, just need to know how to market it to SWMBO.

It is a great family day,we, WR1OC are among 10-12 car clubs that have a free track day but we have to take the public round the track a scare them sh*tless,we can have 6 cars on the track at a time,so we keep changing to give everyone some track time, when your not on the track there are loads of other things to do,airshow, fun fair,hog-roast,fashion show,go-karts,
events area,rally course,off-road course,and more.
All monies go to charity, last year we raised approx £30000.
Only WR1 members can go on track, but if we run short later in the day when cars/people are tired we can let other good cars on track, but you must take the public round and earn some cash,no cruzzzzing with mates.
This is a day not to be missed, everyone is very welcome.
Heaven can wait....I'm playing with my scooby.

can i just ask what the start time and finish time for the would be? only reason i ask it comes in the month of ramadan so i cant eat or drink anything all day so i will be feeling a bit woozy lol. depending on how the first few go will tell me if i can hack it. a 250mile round trip on a empty stomach from 3am untill 9am will seriously do some damage lol

Hi Chris, Does Bruntingthrope have a noise restriction in place and if so what is it? My trackday book says it is 98 static and 87.5 on drive-by. Might be worth checking as 98 is very low. Cozzy

They ask you to rev at 2 thirds your revs. I gave it 3k revs and failed. They smiled and told me to hang off the revs down the straight. It's for charity FFS.

My advice, smile and wink.

on a serious note :( the briefing session tells you all you need to know, and to drive within your limits and enjoy it.after going out for a quiet drink  then comming home some hrs later my b etter half told me you just dont know your limit do you,you never grow up,how old do you think you are, youll never grow up.....bla bla bla bla bla .but it is quiet strange how you can drive at what you feel very comfortable and in complete control and the average member of the public is shitting them selves, and thats only in a standard 1  embaresses the exotica !(yeh rocko you know who you are)awsome weekend guarenteed,c u there. :thumb:

The Exhibitor and Visitor Passes that I usually email to people, are different this year and I have to post them instead. I will be bringing the passes on the day for all those meeting up and driving to Bruntingthorpe in convoy. Any one who is going separately and their visitors, or if you're going later in the day, please PM me with your name and address and number of passes you require so I can post them to you in good time. To help keep the postage costs down please only ask me to post your pass if you will not be in the convoy.
Also, I'm looking into the Barcelo Hotel price confusion. They don't have any record of the agreement so I'll have to find out what's going on with that and let you know.

Earlier in this thread queries about noise levels were raised. They will be testing for noise as usual. The event was nearly cancelled again this year because of the locals complaining about the noise disturbing their Sunday, which is why it has been changed to Saturday. Hopefully all those that complained will be working or out shopping so we won't be annoying them. Makes you wonder though, why people choose to live near an airfield that has been here since WWII and is used almost daily for vehicle testing, driver training and airshows etc.

You wouldn't believe it chris!! I am in the RAF, and I recently worked at the Waddington Airshow. we got a good few people phoning up to complain about the noise from the aircraft. Well surprise surprise, its a bloody airfield!! Do people not realise these things when they move to their houses in the first place?!
