Very very warm 334 bhp 309 torque
307bhp and 293 torque, but like jason said very, very warm, and was told no problem with the car by mr wood,
i know these readings are nothing that are on the wr1 sheet, but was told by chris that because of the hot weather, everyone would be down by up to 10bhp, so if thats true, i have over the stated bhp in the book, and the torque is near enough for us so we are well pleased, now hopefully as the miles get put on it will loosen up a bit more, and we will have to arrange another one when its a lot colder.
i only got 301/290 this time but still a great day and a fun jouney home 50 mph and three wr1s haha!!!
318bhp 328ft/lb
chris is taking the car back in this week for some more mapping after talking to Mike Woods re ignition timing, etc?and doing some measurements for any further mapping on WR1s as they are slightly different to STi s, Good that Mike was there to give some pointers to Chris re the above issues and they will be sorted, Thanks to Mike for the above info and WRC ,had a great day and good to meet some faces
Hi All,
Tuscan - your map is safe The ecu rom file is different in the WR1 to most of the STi cars. We had a look at the map on Spike "THE LEGEND" Mike XXX's car while on the dyno and I'd like to alter the ignition trim at high temp. I had a good discussion with Mike Wood and Mervyn from ECUTEK and will change the map to drop boost - not ignition at higher temps. This is because it takes a while for the ignition to build up again - whereas a change in boost is instantaneous. Spike "THE LEGEND" Mike XXX's car was only running an advance multiplier of 13 - the maximum is 16 - so there was a little more power to come. I have arranged for Mervyn from ECUTEK to come back and spend some time with myself and the car to ensure it runs at the maximum safe performance - all the time. The STi maps are no problem. The WR1 just needs a little extra attention - and I'd like to ensure our customer's cars are perfect. Regards, Chris Davies WRC Technologies
Is this saying that the WR1 standard ECU mapping needs attention, or are these statements related to replacement ECU's
Hi All
great day, really nice to meet up with you, great to put a face to a name. Joe, great fig's, as you would expect the car that look the most dirty would acheive the best fig's for ta standard WR1. 303hp / 293 torque, I got 310 hp and 295 torque at scoobyclinic on 7/5/05 so given the heat, this seem to reflect on my figures. At scoobyclinic the day was a lot colder and at times wet. So I suppose I am happy. It was a good jorney back to staffs, had some fun !! My mates RS Focus did 202hp can't remember the torque figure but from memory seemed good. The hp figure was down a lot to what he thought, standard 212hp, he had full de act Blue fin chip and induction kit, so he was hoping for 240/250. He is going back to Collins performance as they did the work and told him it would add 50hp. Great to see Mike there, I spoke to him a fair bit. He gave up his weekend to be there , Mike a thankyou from me, also Mervyn, really nice chap, sat in his new evo9, dark side felt good inside.
Hi all
Good day had by all 314 Bhp 300 lb/t pretty much the same as i had before. good laugh on the trip up there and back. How do you attach photos to the messages as i have a few.[/img] Always try and get to B from A very Quickly !
Use something like www.photobucket.com and then post the url it gives you or email them to me and I'll do it.
hi mate, see weltmeister quote above, ive had a full de-cat and re-map done.
303bhp and 290ish torque.
So pretty much as expected, given the weather. Plus, enjoyed the drive up. Blobster Ex owner. Now in an Ariel Atom 3 300.
Millie I think you are confusing my car with someone elses, Dirty, not a spec on it. You should have seen it before i cleaned it.
Joseph
yeh joe has some classic car cleaning stuff. but when he gets his meguiars he will soon notice the difference.
no next time we see it, you will be impressed by the amount of shine that can be achieved, for a small price.
You find out how lazy you realy are when the T.V remote runs out of battery power, At the most a 5 ft walk turns out to be very frustating.
Joseph
I wanted to go but was at the Le Mans 24hr race. Stupid question to all of you Scooby guys but I really dont know what a spec c car is. I know a few of you have them and talk about them and they are obviously a bit special but I would like to know more please.
spec'c' is a lightweight scooby....... no leccy windows, central locking etc.... together with a few other bits......
They're JDM cars. Try this link; http://www.litimports.co.uk/subaru/my06/specc.asp Too petty to be a traffic warden...
Whats all this talk about high ambients? Did they not correct the output figures for temperature, pressure and RH?
In my experience every engine tuner records inlet air temp, baro pressure and RH during a measurement and correct outputs back to reference conditions (think it's 15degC, 1013.25mbar and something like 60% RH). Pretty meaningless to quote uncorrected figures as you could never compare one measurement with another made on a different day. How would you know if any mods done had made an improvement or if changes were due to it being a bit cooler? Do the dyno plots not quote corrected and uncorrected numbers? So whats the conclusion? Are WR1's conservatively mapped to avoid trouble on the worse one, thus allowing potential for significant power increases from a specific remap on the average car (warranty notwithstanding of course). Or have Prodrive taken the opportunity of UK only market (decent fuel, no real extreme temps etc) to reduce the margins and get pretty much as much as possible from the standard mapping? Any views from WRC Technologies?
You make it sound so obvious.... Corrected figures would be interesting as I guess there is variation within day too if not just from it warming up or cooling down.
Just been reading the FAQ on WRC Technologies and all the correction words are there. So it obviously isn't this. Guess it's the clever WR1 ECU cutting back the power due to high ambients then.
