Kemble Aifreild track day in corp with JPOC

Postby fullyloaded » Tue Jun 30, 2009 7:13 pm

Hi guys and gals my name is jim and part of JPOC (JAPANESE PERFORMACE OWNERS CLUB) We are hosting an air feild day at kemble air strip and welcome you along to join in with us....provided ya have a JAP car!

"It's on like Donkey Kong!"

On Saturday 15th August 2009, JPOC will have exclusive use of Kemble Airfield, Cirencester for an activity day run by Launch Motorsport.

This date is final so check your diaries, cancel the hair cut, romantic meal or other and let's get it on!

The sample itinery is as follows:

08:00 arrive

08:30 drivers brief

09:00 start.....first warm up driving, getting used to the surface, conditions and vehicle's handling.this will consist of one at a time hitting the main right hander as fast as you dare, there is plenty of run off space and as you are on track 1 at a time. No concern with hitting anyone!

11:30 0 to 60 challenge using race logic gps. This will give the drivers a chance to practice launch control and rapid gear changes for the 1/4 mile.

12:30 lunch(if you want)

13:30 set a practice lap, this can be whatever you want we can add tight corners sweeping bends.Anything you like.

15:30 this time can be used to either go over some of the activities again or we can try something different.

16:30 finish.

Gaz (who looks after events at JPOC) is meeting the organisers in a couple of weeks so any changes you'd like to propose, please make them known to me. Currently, we will be minimising the one corner practice and reducing or getting rid of lunch to give us maximum time to do the 0 - 60 challenge and timed practice laps.

This event is a PRACTICE DAY for insurance purposes so it's a sprint format, one car at a time, no racing antics/accidents.

They will be timing laps so still plenty of kudos to be had on the quiet.

Now, the important bit...monies!

The cost of a whole day there is £50 which will consist of £10 deposit with the remaining £40 to be paid on arrival. We need your deposit a.s.a.p prior to the event taking place. Anybody who would like to pay the deposit via paypal plaese send to Paypal@jpoc.co.uk

Also message me (fullyloaded )your details and ill put your name down on the list or feel free to have a look over on JPOC. You can then add you name yaself.

example.

1.fullyloaded-WR1OC (just so we can keep track of who has paid)

As JPOC hold a business paypal account a 4% charge is made by pay pal on every payment made. So please bear this in mind when making payment that you will see the 4 % extra on the payment that is being made. Example if a deposit is £15.00 on the pay pal invoice screen you will see £15.60.

This is for a fully organised day where EVERYONE who comes can then just drive. I'm no marshall, the day will be a lot better if we leave it to the professionals. Given the price of trackdays, it's a bargain!

We need to take and are limited to 50 cars. First come, first served.

Think that covers it all,

Any questions please dont hesetate to ask!

Many thanks jim

mmmmmm And THIS is the chance !!!!!!!

So no-one then.....?

If any of you want an idea of what it's like, try searching YouTube for "Kemble Launch" as it's in conjunction with Launch Motorsport.
Bath & Bristol Scoobies had 2 bashes at this and 4 of them want to come with JPOC only a month after the last vist ! I guess they loved it.
Oh, and Designerman(from here) went with them. I spotted him doing his thing.

I wonder why Mac-1 and EVO3695 haven't commented .

perhaps I should ring them if Jimbob hasn't already.

There's still places available... £10 deposit on paypal secures your place.
Megaman put his name down a while back but not paid a deposit yet ???
Or am I wrong ?

I would love to do this and thank you for the offer. However certain "family" things have been planned for that weekend.

Yes i put my name down for this and asked a few questions that went unanswered. i asked if the event was still going on as someone said they needed 50 cars minimum... i also asked if there was a hotel where people would stay the night before given its a 4-5 hr drive for me.... it would also be worth knowing if we need helmets to attend as i dont have one.

cheers
