Looks like we will end up with approx 18 cars for the track,so the 6 people who have travelled the farthest can kick things off and then we can change every 1/2 hour or so,the main thing is to make sure everyone gets a decent go,if you have problems with your car pull it away from the track so you can be replaced,above all have a good day and Rosy and me are looking forward to seeing you all.
Subaru UK will not be attending as they have pig flu,they do have one of their guys bringing a car to our gate so we can slip him in where possible.

I washed my car yesterday and its chucked it down overnight. Since the roads are wet as soon as I get on the motorway the car will be covered in shite, so i will be battling with you for the dirty car award :)

Well said James,I think some of the super cars did have a shock with the scoobys kicking ass,the new guys to the track,Bro,280,Rocko,mega and dad-in-law did us proud,Firehawk lived up to his name,I'm sitting here smiling just thinking about the day.
The guys in charge were well pleased with us and we had 12 cases of fruit juice given to us before we left to lead a convoy of TVRs back to the shell station where we began the day.
We were also a major hit with the ATC boys and girls.
I'm knackered,just had a take-away now off to bed to hold hands with Rosy and talk dirty to her,thats all we do at our age,thanks again and good night you were all bloody great and you'll be going to heaven,not yet though.

Thanks as always to Chris and Rosy. Yet another superb event.

I had some fantastic passenger laps with Firehawk (Andy), Autotecnica (Adam) and Rocko. All three of you are mentally detached from life... but boy you all made me smile. I actually learnt a lot from you all too. After a couple of laps my confidence grew and grew. Some of the comments from taking people round made it all worth it. One mother and her young lad were telling me how good the Skyline and Ferrari were.... Then they told me I was crazy... Naturally I pointed them in the direction of the other Subaru drivers.

Didn't get a chance to have a run in the black STi. Really nice lad. I also owe Mac an apology as I didn't get to say hello properly. When we first bumped into each other I was a little preoccupied with preparing for my first few laps. Same rudeness was shown to Danr55. Sorry guys.

Great to briefly meet some new guys, Foley and Mark.

My best tip, don't worrying about "finding your lines".... Mix it up and it makes each lap like a new track!!!

Thanks to all.

Thanks Chris and Rosy for arranging another great event at Bruntingthorpe. I had a whale of a time on the track and improved the handling of my car by pushing a little further each time. I was surprised what the WR1 could keep up with and overtake. I managed to overtake a Lotus Exige R, Skyline (old one), and amazingly both Lambos. I dont know if they eased off or if the WR1 is actually seriously quick out of the box. I dont have any power increasing mods and was getting 135 down the straight consistently by waiting until I was fully on the straight to let rip. Towards the middle of the day I started booting it from the first set of S's on the back straight and managed to get up to 140-143ish but then had to jump on the brakes to stop in time. The AP brakes lived up to their reputation and didnt fade at all despite not being given time to cool down. All in all very impressed with the day and all the other attractions of the day. It was good to meet everyone on Saturday night and have a few drinks with you all. Roll on next years event! :)

Fact of the weekend

I filled up with V-Power before the track, so much so that the car was overflowing - ignored the normal petrol clicks...

Track was about 8 miles away... went on track got back to shell on vapours and looked at the trip - 58 miles.

I put 49.83L of fuel back in when i got back to Shell...

58 - 16 gentle miles to the track = 42 Miles... if you do the maths the car was doing under 5MPG on the track!

Can anyone beat that? :shock:

I didn't measure the miles or fuel... but I could see the needle dropping each lap. For the record the Scooby tank holds more like 60 litres iirc. Needle says empty, but you could have managed another 2-3 laps.

Ah thats worth knowing as the line was below the bottom white line as i limped back to shell on low revs.. thought i was gonna run out.

RB320 VS WR1 Stats :shock:

Full tank of V Power for both cars in the morning.
Both trips reset to 0.
After track:
RB320 = 52 Miles
WR1 = 58 Miles

Cost to refuel:
RB320 = £27
WR1 = £54

Tyre Wear Before Track
RB320 = Medium Wear
WR1 = Medium Wear

Tyre Wear After Track
RB320 = 1 bald tyre / 3 very low
WR1 = all Low Wear / none bald

So the torquier RB320 uses less fuel but seems to shred tyres a lot quicker than the WR1... Interesting :idea:

He said he was redlining it down the straight too and getting 140-143 out of it... my top speed was 135-140 depending on the speed i entered the straight - mine too was redlining.

I'm not sure you can really draw a lot from these figures. There are too many "between car" variables involved.

What I want to know is why you weren't at the Ford event at Silverstone. We passed millions of Fords, including at least 15 new RS. You would have been in heaven :rofl:

Don't worry I gave them lots of hassle on your behalf with the missus and little one asleep on the way home :D
