Christmas Sunday Lunch Meet

Postby RobinSherwood » Thu Oct 23, 2008 10:17 am

So we couldn't get a big enough crowd for the traditional WR1OC Christmas do but there seems a bit of interest in having a Sunday Lunch along the lines of the one we had in the Summer.

As with the Summer the lunch meet would be in the Midlands and in the first instance I would suggest the same venue as that seemed to go down well last time. I can suggest other alternatives if people want.

So we would be going here again those who did not come last time

http://www.thebutchersarms.com

The location is roughly equal distance from J11 and 12 of the M40 and J18 and 16 of the M1 (depending on whether you are coming from the north or South).

They do have a Christmas Set Lunch Menu

http://www.thebutchersarms.com/christma ... _lunch.php

As you can see it is a bit different and not the usual turkey and stuffing option.

Shall we aim for Sunday the 21st or is that too close to Christmas? We could aim for Sunday the 14th instead? Please let me know what you think so we can make a decision asap.

If anyone wants to have a drink, bring a sleeping bag and you can sleep it off at my house.

List for Christmas Sunday Lunch

Aha! I hadn't realised this. I just put up a snorter about the lack of attendance at the Xmas Bash and then I find this one!

Just gotta do it! It might be a bit more difficult to sell to the missus than go-karting, given the size of the bill when I normally leave the Butchers, but it is a truly relaxing experience and not expensive unless you're a plonker like me.

1. Robin - 7th or 14th Dec
2. Danr55 7th or 14th
3. Fraser + family TBC - currently 7th or 14th or 21st (22nd is the wife's birthday)

Hi Jonny,

If uncle wont let you bring the 1, don’t worry about it just come along for a bite to eat.

It would be nice to see you on a WR1OC meet, don’t let the type of car you turn up in be the problem.

Hopefully we will see you.

OK as so far everyone can do the 14th but two can't do the 7th, shall we make it the 14th?

I am at Silverstone all day tomorrow but will probably make a booking for the 14th on Wednesday unless I hear to the contrary.

Regards,

Robin

Right that is BOOKED.

2.30 sitting on Sunday the 14th December, I have booked for 14 people.

(the 12.30 sitting is already fully booked)

If everyone can give me lots of notice of any changes it would be appreciated as I have had to give them a deposit on the table being such a big party so close to Christmas.

If anyone else does want to come along let me know and if I can add to the table I will.

2. Danr 55
3. Fraser + family
4. Mac-1
5. Presa + Mrs
6. Woza + Strife
7. Megaman + Wife

He’s not allowed out to play at the moment. I saw him last night and mentioned it but just had a blank look.

It’s the small creature murdering season and he spends his Sundays killing gods little animals.

Make sure you wrap up warm we were absolutely FREEZING last year. Also take a picnic and a thermos as Wembley ran out of food and hot drinks pretty early on last year.

Of course you could come to the lunch and then go to Wembley! :P

OK assuming I am 'one', Mac-1 is 'one', Fraser is 'four' and the rest are 'two' that now makes 12 people?

Anyone else going to join us? Come on everyone this should be a good meal.
