Just had 15k sevice done at Dicksons of Inverness with 10/10 for them again :D

Phoned them on 4th Jan(1st day open after NY) around 11.30 & car was in for sevice by 12.15, now thats quick!

Still getting used to being part of the site, and I'm constantly finding lots of items which I'm almost brave enough to reply to. Having bought my 1 from Crossroads some 18 months ago I thought I'd add my tuppence worth....

Crossroads overall score - 9/10

Whew! I had to do some thinking about that. You never know who's listening, and it wouldn't take a brain surgeon to scan the site and work out my number. If I worked for Crossroads that's what I would do, and I would imagine you could quickly tie up the WR1 number from the site register to the name on the invoice and take an educated guess :oops:

Upsides for me were the fact that I didn't waste time with a salesman with dollar signs in his eyes (having previously come from Audi where they tended to pin you down, gag you, and force you sign an eleventy year credit card APR deal just for a test drive). Dealing with their MD was pretty much a first for me, and having said I wanted a 1 he moved heaven and earth to make sure that I could give him as much revenue as possible, but then, that's the car I wanted - everyone was a winner.

Since then, the sales aftermarket relations have been extremely robust. I've been invited out to Spa and Nurburgring twice, and taken them up on the offer once. I've also had a highly entertaining day at Prodrive nr. Kenilworth too, for free.

The nice little touches are that when I walk in to the front-of-shop everybody knows my first name, without even thinking about it, and says 'hi'. I'm a little ashamed that I can't always remember theirs. They're the first to offer coffee, the first to chat sociably about anything other than cars, the first to takes the michael out of me, ahem!, and the last to proffer the door to me.

That's the upside, now the downside.

Familiarity is starting to breed contempt. There have been a couple of niggles that have required sorting out, and the service management have not always been the most gracious. They're always efficient, but they seem to have too much going on these days. That's hardly surprising with the targets Subaru UK are setting them, I suppose, but it does place them in a very difficult position in meeting the levels of customer satisfaction they'd like to continue achieving versus the stretch targets I imagine they have. Nevertheless, that's their problem, not mine.

Things are starting to creak at the seams. I recently had a 5K service, was quoted

Interesting read.

About a year ago I was looking for some mods for my car and I called Crossroads on numerous occasions leaving details of what I wanted. On each occasion they said they would call back later than day. Never once did I get a call back. It was a shame really as many people talk highly of them.

Absolutely agree. Getting a call back from Crossroads is a bit like trying to aim for a baby with your partner - it will probably happen sometime but you never know how many years you need to wait :brick:

Seriously though, I've had good service overall, so maybe it's time for them to look for more resources if they're to maintain their reputation?

Bad luck, Dan. It seems to be increasingly endemic across the dealers. I don't necessarily think it's their fault entirely as the targets they have to meet are ridiculous. Having said said that, once the sale is done the important part actually starts - namely keeping a customer. So why has that suddenly become so difficult for these guys to achieve these days?

to be honest i think they need to review there staff ,
and get rid of the monkeys who r letting them down!
there seems to be a lack of respect for the owners cars aswell!!!!!!!
people pay good money for the car, and want to look after it.
i had to moan when i c some nob from the service dept get out after a
(so called test drive) with a box full of bacon rolls and burgers for the rest of the staff :shock: :shock: :shock: not a happy chappy :!: :!:

Marshall Nissan Cambridge 2/10 and that just for being local.... I know, its not Subaru but so? Excellent when we bought the car but not for services.

Had the wifes 350Z in there for 18K service. Told them about a few issues also gave them my own full synth oil and said dont wash it! well it was clean and didnt want the OAP going over it with a gritty sponge.

Picked the car up it was filthy looked like someone had covered it in dust then sprayed water over it :shock: They didn't give back the balance of the oil for top up said it must have been throw out, (did they actually put it in I wonder or use there own maybe the spotty YOP took it for his Corsa).

They lubricated the door hinges.... I know this cos most of the oil was running down the cill, they spilt oil over the engine cover and only 1/2 wiped it up. They said the geometry was spot on and the pads were fine and the gear box noise was normal :shock:

The report form was dated a year in advance and the tyre tread depth was noted as 6mm front and rear, in fact the tread wear was actually 3mm rear and 4.5mm front. I checked the pressures after, they hadn't cos they were wrong and I had the geometry checked later elsewhere and it was miles out.

Brought this to the service managers attention... he really didnt give a to$$ , when I said about the state of the car, he replyed 'well you told us not to wash it' !! yea but I didn't tell you to make it filthy either. So all in all not good... maybe ok if you have a micra but nothing else. :finger:

Cars now booked in for it next service at Welches a SUBARU garage who have always looked after me and as best as I can tell done a great job.

Ahh a little bit 2 late now am getting on for the next service now... prob is they just dont have that caring edge. There used to dealing with euro boxes and the associated folk who only have a car to go from A to B and as long as it does that and the lovely dealer washes it every service (which is the only time its done) then their happy.

They just cannt deal with the petrol heads who have a passion and are actually concerned as to how the dealer does things and in reality also look after their car to a higher standard than the main dealer does and do research so they know exactly whats supposed to be done before they take the car in.

They deal with a 28K car the same way as a Micra yet they are miles apart :finger:

Just had a 25000 mile service and some mods done at Crossroads all I can say is 10/10 for the work,price and especially Joe's phone manner, but he should read his emails first thing in the morning !!!!! :D

Stan Palmers in Carlisle, Cumbria. Tip top! Always took my P1 there and now the WR1. Just had cambelt service done @ £200. They also de-tango'd my front lights at my request.

They've always been good. The guys there are in contact with Prodrive which is great, especially when they know about the P1 and the dreaded maf failure.

They also say that many people from down South travel up to have their cars serviced by them and stay overnight at travel lodges and its still cheaper than prices at dealers in their area.

Agree, have always taken mine to Stan Palmers, service is first class an they really know there stuff, as well as being friendly into the bargain. 10/10!

Scutch, u pleased with the de-tango job then, been desperate to do mine for ages but haveny had the baws to do the job masel incase a make an arse of it.

CROSSROADS SUBARU..... found the sales team very pushy, also after sales is very poor, found they look down there knoses at you, felt like i wasnt good enough to be in there... also very expensive, and there best machanics left!
