Name and Shame!

Time to start a list of dealers we've had experiences with, good or bad.
No need to rant or slag them off just rate them out of 10 and we can make our own minds up.

K T Green's Otley 9/10
F R Pullyen's York 5/10 (never got past the sales guy)
Days of Chelmsford 7/10 Car wasn't quite as described but they paid K T Green's to sort it for me.

Edited to add Day's.

Sorry cannot agree with above:
Sparshatts Botley 3/10 service is poor and rude, bought 30k car and they acted as if they had done me a favour!
Previous experiences with Toyota & Mitsubushi miles better.

Dealer Performance

Postby Buzz WR1 » Sun Jan 16, 2005 3:10 pm

:D Culverwells in Robertsbridge, East Sussex.
Always courteous, efficient, & have got me out of a couple of spots without any notice.
10/10
They are well established and do have a loyal customer base.

Culverwells 8/10

I've edited my score, upwards! I felt i was being a little harsh.

Sales side is pretty good tbh, apart from mucking me about with the pick up date for my WR1, even though it was sitting in the show room.

We called in to see them over the weekend, very helpful, gave us a set of Forester keys and told us to go for a test drive. First time i've ever been out on a test drive without a salesman in the car. I don't think they normally trust me, i must look like an estate agent or something...

I've had a couple of issues with the service side in the past. They didn't fix a known fault under warranty a couple of years ago  , which for me brings the score down a little.

If we keep it clean and just rate them, I can't see any issues.

Don't go calling company X robbing b*st*rds or anything!!

I wonder if there is a company called Company X???!

I dont agree that it will tell anything, 2 dealers already with differing opinions of them. Two different salesmen maybe, with one better than the other? so the dealership suffers.

Some opinions will be bias as they bought their cars there.

My dealer has a low score, yet they have done everything I have asked of them. The first oil change was far cheaper than any others mentioned on here, as was the 5k service.
How many of your cars came with a FULL tank of petrol and a copy of the DCCD and how it works. Did they send you a card and calendar at Christmas.
Oh yes, when you collected your car did it have a Subaru jacket on the seat.
PLUS it was

I have to agree with Dave. It's the little things that make being fleeced for 30 grand for a new car less painful!

The levels of service i recieved from one of the named dealers on a number of points made me change to another one, with whom i've not had any problems what so ever.

agree with Dave..

Good post there mate :)

Its our each and personal View on the Dealer that we have had Experience with.

No member will post up bad complaints of other dealers if they have not First hand experienced that

IE. if i hear that XXX dealer had been really bad with service to XXX member , i and Us will not post that.. ITs down to the Actual person who has had the bad experience..

Good work Guys :)

Dealer rating

Postby Crossman » Sun Jan 16, 2005 8:28 pm

Crossroads Subaru 2/10

Okay at selling the car but very recently had awful after sales experience on a small problem which due to their attitude has forced me to change dealer. They could have so easily pacified me following a few mistakes they made - instead I have had a couple of weeks of hassle. Interestingly I noticed on another forum someone said they rated Crossroads - clearly they received better service than me.

Ironic really as had 6 years at Fenny Compton Subaru (8/10) which in 2004 had its francise removed by Subaru UK!

Also had poor experiences in 1998 at the Leicester dealer but to be fair that was a long time ago - perhaps they have improved but I wouldnt take the risk and go there personally.

Will let you know my experiences of my 4th dealer next week!

Dave, if I'd got a better attitude from the sales guy I may have bought from them

To balance things up, K T Greens had the opportunity of taking my money for all 3 Imprezas I have bought but they didn't bother ringing me back. I then tried Pulleyns, no joy, so the 1st one came from an independent garage.
The 2nd one came from Days of Chelmsford, who after a bit of letter writing, sorted some faults with it.
Finally Green's took my money and they've been great ever since.
And they do me some fantastic prices when I organise group buys.

Crossman, Gangsta Smurf uses Crossroads and raves about them, speak to him and see if he can mediate for you.

dealer stuff

Postby Crossman » Sun Jan 16, 2005 10:06 pm

Thanks for the thoughts on Crossroads. I would have said they were fine until something went wrong. They admitted on the phone they had made a mistake but then failed to appease me. I dont want to go into all the detail suffice it to say I told them what it would take to restore my faith in them and they said they wouldn't do it. So, I appreciate some people will think they are really good but I will not be using them and I've told them that. :(

Jason.
I wasnt having a dig at Greens, more trying to make the point how opinions vary depending on who you see at a dealers.
The salesperson may be fine when taking you dosh, but when a problem arises its down to the service guy and if he has a different attitude then what you think of the salesman is lost by someone else and the whole dealerships reputation has gone by one awkward ar**
Difficult to put into words

Dave has hit the nail there.

You see so many people.

The Salesman who sells you the Car, and then its over to the Service Desk, and it can vary who you get there.

Its a shame that a Dealer dosent have a FRONT MAN - who sorts out everything for you.

He could be the person you first meet, who organises the sale, organises the problems ( if any ) and organises the services.

So you only deal with One Person..... From Day one..

Now lets take it a stage further.. that Person could be a Pretty Brunette... Always a smile for you,

Goodness me... Now this is a Idea :)

Who wants to start up a Dealership ?

Re Crossroads

Postby Crossman » Wed Jan 19, 2005 7:59 pm

For the record Crossroads have now apologised , admitted they made mistakes and offered to put things right. I am going back as a result :) but the proof of the pudding will be in the eating as they say.
