The bank manager aint happy

Postby mpr » Tue Oct 26, 2004 8:39 pm

And nor is the missus.....

But a brand spanking new WR1 is on its way :-)

Didn't think any were left (unregistered I mean), but I've just paid the deposit and its mine.

After weeks of ringing round for prices on the new STI etc etc, I just thought f@@k it; it was gonna cost me the same money once I'd ditched the alloys and sorted the power out anyway.

So there it is - I am about to join your esteemed ranks ;-)

Cheers,

Matt.

Welcome to the WR1oc, Matt. We're a friendly bunch and I'm sure your wife will love the WR1 when it arrives.

Still got my little clio 172! my ma is taking it off my hands when I'm ready - that way I could spank the dealer with cash ;-)

I'm bracing myself for a dramatic increase in fuel bills.... and the commensurate performance increase as well of course ;-)

never less than 36 on a tankfull !!!! if the trip computer can be believed that is!

I spend a fair amount of time stuck on a sh!tty dual carriage way at 50 ish, hence the mpg picks up quite a lot. It gets nailed every where else though ;-)

Welcome mpr to the site and ownership, perhaps after you have driven the car for real, after the 1k service :D , you can post on SN the real difference between a scoob and clio. I am not having a go at the clio as I think it is a well sorted car, just might shut some of then up on the site.

Millie, NOTHING would convince that lot of ANYTHING.
Over there, if you asked the time you'd get 35 different answers and they'd ALL claim to be right.

By the way, I whooped a Porsche GT3 in my Reliant Robin last night!!

RE: SECURITY

Don`t know if you lot are interested but the insurance company made me have fitted a thing called a `DIPOL `lock

This is a cleaver bar which slides into the side of the gearbox and locks it in reverse or any gear you choose any time or place.

The insurance premium with this, the Tracker and the Cat 1 dropped like a whores draws!!

Still pissed about the amount of fuel it guzzels though!!!

I'm interested to hear that the Dipol puts the insurance down. :D

If you need any more info on the Blackjax mpr, either do a search on here or PM me.

I thought my insurance was pretty good at ~ 800pa, but maybe I should ring subaru insured next time.

Having said that - I've rang them before and they didn't even get back to me (I'm not the only one by all accounts either....) and my thoughts are if they can't be arsed to give you a quote, what are they going to be like if you need to claim????

Mine is going to get registered on Monday, hopefully should get it before next month is out! I'm clearing the garage today so I can fit the thing in ;-)

When i rang them they asked me my age, the type of car(which from memory i had trouble getting across what model it was  ) what i'd been quoted so far. Then they told me to go with the other quote as they knew they wouldn't be able to beat it!

At least it saved me 10 minutes going through with a proper quote
