Can anyone advise me my Subaru Impreza WRX STI WR 1 engine overheated & I was told it needs replaced
I want to do the best regarding what is needed is it okay to use a reconditioned engine or better to buy a new one?
I have no intentions of selling my WR1 I have had it since new & want to keep the car
Any advise would be greatly appreciated

I'm sure you'd pay through the nose @ subaru for a new engine. Probably better to have an engine builder re-build it with some uprated internals. Someone like Engine Tuner.

How many miles has it done ? What is the problem with the existing ?

be more original and cost effective most likely to simply strip and overhaul your existing correctly

new-age 2.0 engines aren't prone to heat issues so suggest its has some other problems which need identified and sorted before any new engine is installed
