Best drivers car you have owned ?

Postby Brian » Sun Oct 03, 2004 5:00 pm

This is a question for you all..

Best drivers car...

Now we all know that the new cars have more drivers aids all the time, even the WR1 has auto diff control.

I feel that we are heading towards automation where a proper raw drivers car will be a kit car etc etc...

What cars have you owned int eh past that you feel you had so much fun in derserve a place in this thread..

I can sat that my Type R vs 5 was a great car, it was the Group N gearbox which was so down geared it was so much fun to drive, it had raw power that cannot be found on the new age Scoobys

I feel that the new age scooby have lost the rawnes of the classic had.

Being heavier and safer, driving to Blue Water today and crusing at about 120 for most of the way the WR1 feels nice and safe.

What are your thoughts of the progression of the Scooby ?

(scoobynet users) im not bragging about the high crusing speed and im not a chav !!

I'm glad you put the disclaimer in about the speed otherwise you could have been lynched by an angry SN mob!!

By the way, is that a good example to set to children who might use the site??!

Back to cars......

Don't laugh but it was a Capri 2.8i.

Stop laughing...!

For it's time it was a quick car (in a straight line) it didn't like corners but was great at stepping the back end out and sliding round, feathering the throttle.

Donuts were cool as well!

Obviously the car never did an indicated 140 down the A1 as this would be silly and illegal!
To be 18 again....!

those were the days oh those were the days.

I thind myself scanning the laybys, overhead bridges, slip roads, mirrors, all the time while on the motor ways,

Very tyreing and very boring, no fun anymore.

When driving down to London Yesterday, i was thinking, the good ole days are gone now, maybe i should take to the skys to get my kicks ?

I test drove a 1.9GTI when i was 19, what a car !! couldnt afford it though.

those were the days.

I guess my Nissan 200SX was good fun to drive and you had to be aware of the rear end a fair bit. Other than that I borrowed my brothers Lotus Elise a few times and that is just awesome for a drivers car in my humble opinion.

I'll second that...my bro has an Elise (sold his Caterham cos he wanted a practical car!) and they are great fun

Well I'm going to be the first (sad?) person and say the WR1. I've driven a lot of cars and this, to me is the best. Hence the fact i bought it i guess!
