Blackjax (sp?)

Anybody had a Blackjax fitted to their WR1? What are your thoughts? I have been quoted

I rang my Scooby dealer and he recommended a Clifford dealer to me, who they use.

Been talking to the Wifie regarding security, as you may all know i live behind bars ;)

i have 6 colour CCTV cameras about the estate with 3 on the scoob.

All behind a electronic gate that gets locked out at night time.

The argument is...

If they want it they will take it !!! - No mater what..

am i wrong in thinking this ?

Yes and no. If they want a WR1 then it's best to up the standard security in some way. If they know it's on the car it may put them off.

That's why a Blackjax is on my, and a lot of other peoples shopping lists.

After that you can add dogs, dipols and a few other bits as well :wink:

As long as you have somewhere to lose the bodies, you'll be fine :wink:

I always thought insurance companies frowned upon devices like this. I could be wrong and it wouldn't be the first time but it's worth checking.

I thought it had something to do with it making the car easier to steal before it kicked in and cut-out the engine.

Really?

I think they sound like a good thing. Someone pulls you out the car, you don't struggle and run like buggery with a smile on your face thinking you ain't going to get far.

Now you mention it, I can see an issue but surely it isn't easier to steal because if you didn't have blackjax and someone people you out they would be gone with nothing to stop them?????

My knowledge on this subject is very vague but I think it is to do with the potential to make it easier to steal (somehow) and also the potential to cause a major accident if the engine/power suddenly cut out thus making the insurance company liable for a bigger payout.

The Blackjax is there in addition to the standard security rather than in place of it. The system only cuts in and stops the car once it is at a very slow speed or a stand still, not after a certain length of time no matter what speed the car is doing.

My Girlfriend has it fitted 2 her STI type R. Think it's a brilliant idea, but just don't think i could live with it day 2 day.

Chris- The blackjax (She has turbo timer 2)

Brian- Yep blk sti type R ver5 :D Running Gems & a few other mods, It's a beast 8)
& she can handle it like a dream :D She has had it on track a few times at Knockhill (i only did 1st track day last month) & run it up the strip at Crail embarasing a lot of guys:D
I count myself very lucky as she is a very special girl! ( Hi J :wink: ) :D :D :D

R version 5 with Gems.. is the best SCoob ever. hope she can bring to a meet in the future as its a Proper Drivers Scoob ;)

They're both worth having, i'm in and out of the car all day and it only takes a few extra seconds to sort it all out. A lot less time than sorting out the loss of the car with an insurance company.
