To be honest, it should be at Clive's again for comparison purposes.

290 something is a long way from 320, we would have something to say if we were 10% short in our wages or paid for 10 galls of Optimax and only got 9.

Until mine has been on a r/r I will be wondering now, as will others I guess,

Here you go Dave.
I'm not having a go, I'm just saying what dealers and Prodrive will use in their defence.

What we should all appreciate with specs and performance figures is that they are all based on optimum conditions. ie a car that is running in the best possible condition, with an expert driver who knows these cars inside out, on a test track that they use every day in probably near perfect conditions depending on what they want to achieve. When you start looking at prices you do get good value for money though, ie

REPLIES TO:

1. CHRIS B..........OK Chris get the point bout extras, but these cars were sold as the doggies balls yeah regarding performance, that`s my point from earlier. Perhaps I expected too much from these cars, as I said I thought you lot knew something us lot with duck tails on our cars didn`t!

2. JASON..............Tyre screeching. Pressures are all ok thanks Jas. The noise is the same as they experienced on the Top Gear test a while back. Long bends or roundabouts where the tyres just yell causing obvious attention to a car that`s already saying " Hey I`m over here" I wondered if it was the PZero`s and was going to change them to see if the noise went. I posted this question last month to see if any other owners were experiencing the same prob, but didn`t get any response.

So I suppose contact the dealer re: the performance check ah?!

Thanks for the interest though mate! Regards Kami

I've not had any problems with the tyres in the dry. It could be that i'm not trying hard enough!

I'm going for a different brand next time though as i don't like the feel of them in the wet. :?

Kami, I've got Goodyear F1 GSD-3's on mine and don't suffer the screeching.

A point of interest, when Top Gear tested the WR1 and claimed they'd never heard so much tyre squeal, the Evo made just as much noise.
I have it on sky+ and watch it regularly and everytime they say it I want to kick my telly in!!

I never saw that test either.

I also was expecting the WR1 to be the best thing i had ever driven.

But it wasnt, i ordered mine months before th efirst one came through and my first drive in one was the day i collected it.

To cut a long story short, im still working to make the WR1 the Ultimate ;)

Ill keep you all posted with what can be done.

Same here, i first drove one when i picked up the car but to be fair i'm more than happy with it at the moment. That view may change once it's been on a rolling road! :?

JASON -

Ta for the info on the F1`s `n glad to hear the Evo was a squeeeeelie, bit like an old girlfriend of mine!!..........but not the tele please..............it`ll cost you more dosh! Talking about the Evo, I fancy trading upto that new FQ400 the one they put against a Zonda, `n it won! Trouble is the residual value.............anyway, that`s another story, but if I do I`ll send u a mail wot it`s like.

BRIAN -

Yeah Bri, I ordered `n waited 5 months for mine, had 2 outs in it with the dealer driving and just the one on me own, and I`m afraid one couldn`t throw the thing around much with the salesman on board. Although saying that we had a run in with a new M3 Beemer. Interesting this. He was up me arse, full in the rear view mirror 1st and 2nd gear, couldn`t shake him. I tried really tried hard on two occasions off two roundabouts, but he was like shit to a blanket! Then on both occasions got into 3rd `n he disappeared, getting smaller `n smaller in the mirror...........anyway, thought you might find that interesting?!

CHRIS -

Yeah interesting to see what results you get from the RR

And.......Hey you lot, I`m still happy with the car, it`s just......................

You know when you`ve waited for ever for something `n it`s never quite as good ( but the car does go like a rat in all first 4 gears `n is good-ish )
it`s like that.........I thought it would be better. But AGAIN saying that you sort of forgive all the shitty bits once it`s warmed up and heading for that first bend...........
